About Brian - I am employed by the Department of Defense. I live in Arlington, Virginia with Cheryl. Arlington is just over the river from Washington, DC. I am a "Displaced Yankee". I was born and raised in Avenel, NJ which is part of Woodbridge Township. I lived there until I was 15 years old when we moved to Duplin County, North Carolina. That was a long two years of my life! After graduating from Kenansville High School in 1978, I joined the Navy and started traveling. I got out of the Navy in 1984 and have lived in Lexington Park Maryland, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Charleston, south Carolina, and now in the Crystal City section of Arlington, Virginia. I love Crystal City, and I Traveled here a lot over the course of my career, so moving here in late 2011 was an easy transition for me. If you have any ideas, constructive criticism, or would like to contribute one of your own experiences, please drop me a line.

About Cheryl - I am currently employed by the Department of Defense. A US Navy Veteran (Desert Shield/Desert Storm) and a member of American Legion Post 166 in Goose Creek, South Carolina. I was born in Colorado Springs, CO. I am the product of the US Army, my Dad retired from Fort Gordon, GA. Being a Military Brat, I have traveled all over the US and Europe. I have many experiences and memories that have contributed to who I am today. With all my travels I have learned to love cooking and preparing dishes from around the world. It would be my pleasure to share these Recipes and memories with you. I moved to Charleston back in 1993, came for a visit and fell in Love with the town and its people. I have made Charleston my home until our recent move to Arlington, VA in December of 2011. If you have any memories, experiences for food tips, recipes, etc. Please drop me a line .
