Brian is the webmaster and does most of the traveling. Cheryl is a southern
girl who likes to cook. Cheryl is collecting southern recipes and will
be publishing them on the site. She will also be researching the history
behind some of these dishes and will be telling you about them, so check back
often.
We are both veterans and belong to
the American Legion, Post 166,
Goose Creek Forty & Eight, Voiture 1067, and the
Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 269. Brian is
also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Post 10256.
If you would like to contribute an experience
or a recipe, please contact me.
About Brian - I am employed by the Department
of Defense. My current project has me moving around the South East part
of the US, and I enjoy the short trips that I make now. I
live in Hanahan, SC with Cheryl. Hanahan is about 12 miles from
Charleston. I am a "Displaced Yankee". I was born and raised in
Avenel, NJ which is part of Woodbridge Township. I lived there until
I was 15 years old when we moved to Duplin County North Carolina. That
was a long two years of my life! After graduating from Kenansville High
School in 1978, I joined the Navy and started traveling. I got out of
the Navy in 1984 and have lived in Lexington Park Maryland, Virginia
Beach, Virginia, and now Charleston. I love Charleston and have lived
here since 1996. I was also stationed here from 1980 -1982, so I wasn't
a complete stranger to the area when I moved here. If you have any ideas,
constructive criticism, or would like to contribute one of your own
experiences, please drop me a line by clicking

I am the product of the US Army, my Dad has since then retired from Fort Gordon,
GA. Being a Military Brat, I have traveled all over the US and Europe.
I have many experiences and memories that have contributed to who I am today.
With all my travels I have learned to love cooking and preparing dishes from
around the world. It would be my pleasure to share these recipes and
memories with you. I moved to Charleston back in 1993, came for a visit
and fell in Love with the town and its people. I have made Charleston my
home. If you have any memories, experiences for food tips, recipes, etc.
