Andolini's Pizza is a locally owned Charleston, SC Pizza Chain. I visited the one on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston, and I got to tell you, the Pizza served here is the Real Deal. It reminds me of the Pizza Parlor I used to go to in Woodbridge, New Jersey as a boy. It is the closest thing to New York Neapolitan Style Pizza you can get here in Charleston. The owner of Andolini's is from Queens, New York, so it makes sense that the Pizza is authentically New York Style.

Andolini's has several locations throughout the Charleston area. The Rivers Avenue location in North Charleston is closest to me, so that is where I go. I cannot speak for the other locations, but I'm sure the Pizza Pie is good at the other locations too.

The characteristics of a true Neapolitan NY Style Pizza is a thin Chewy Crust, you should be able to fold it in half without it crumbling or ripping, olive oil that drips off of the tip if you let it dangle, sweet tomato sauce, but not smothered, and fresh mozzarella. Andolini's Pizza is this way and very good, and Neapolitan NY Style Pizza is hard to come by in the south. I guess that's why there are so many NY Style Pizza posers out there, if the masses really don't know what Neapolitan NY Style Pizza is, then how can they be dissatisfied? Trust this Yankee when I tell you, Andolini's is the place to go for New York Style Pizza Pie.

The Restaurant on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston is unique. The Pizza is an assembly line set up. The oven surfaces rotate so the Pizza cooks and can be taken out and put in as a platform comes back up. It is a very efficient process. Henry Ford would have been proud to see such an assembly line brought to life, and like Henry Ford once said about his cars, "you can have any color you want as long as it is black", Andolini's will let you have any size Pizza you want as long as it is 19 inches. I'm sure this simplifies the process and allows them to serve a lot of Pizzas quickly. They do not deliver, but you can order ahead and take the Pizza to go. You can also order individual slices of Pizza too as well as Calzones and salads.
