Aunt Mae's Steaks & Country Cookin
Aunt Mae's Steaks & Country Cooking is a Restaurant located in a Country Style House with a wrap around porch on Cedar Street in Summerville South Carolina. Aunt Mae's is a charming place with good curb appeal, which enticed us into checking them out. Cheryl and I went to dine at Aunt Mae's Steaks & Country Cookin' on a Friday night. It wasn't crowded. We walked up to the porch and there were a few folks having dinner on the porch enjoying the nice evening temperatures. We decided to be seated inside the Restaurant. We were shown to a two room dining area where there was only a party of three at one table. Our drink orders were taken and brought to us in a reasonable amount of time. Then we waited, and waited, and then we waited some more expecting someone to take our order. In the mean time, another party of three came in, and then about 5 minutes later a party of two came in, and we waited. After the last couple, the party of two were there for about 5 minutes, a waiter took their order! We still waited, and incidentally, the table that came after us, and before the couple that got their order taken, was waiting too. This was completely unsatisfactory for several reasons. One, they weren't that busy, and two, we had been there for 15 minutes waiting. We decided that we were going to go somewhere else, and went looking for the waiter so we can pay for our drinks. We finally found her and gave her some money to take care of the drinks and she expected a TIP! I guess she didn't understand that TIPS stands for "To Insure Prompt Service". Aunt Mae's Steaks & Country Cookin' was an utter disappointment, and it was so hard to believe the attitude we got when we decided to leave.

Aunt Mae's Steaks & Country Cookin Highlights
While we waited, I did check out the menu. They had various chicken dinners, Catfish Dinners, Mac & Cheese, and a few vegetable side dishes. I found it odd though that Collard Greens or Mustard Greens were on the menu. I never heard of a Country Cookin' Restaurant not having greens. Aunt Mae's Steaks & Country Cookin' also has a tiny bar in the back that probably will hold about 6 people. The Bar area is called Uncle Roscoe's Bar. There wasn't anyone at the Bar when I was at Aunt Mae's.
I wish I could tell you more like what the food was like, but unfortunately, the service at Aunt Mae's Steaks & Country Cookin' Restaurant was so bad, we just couldn't put up with it long enough to try their food. I recommend that you avoid Aunt Mae's Steaks & Country Cookin' in Summerville.
