Backyard Steak Pit

Backyard Steak Pit is a Mom &
Pop Charcoal Grill Steak House located in Gurnee, Illinois not far from Six Flags. The Steaks are
cooked over Charcoal and can be seen just off of the dining room and behind the Bar. When you enter Backyard Steak Pit, the wonderful aroma of Charcoal Grilled Steak greets you
immediately.
The dining room is elegant with white table clothed tables, and probably seat about 100. Backyard Steak Pit offers a small Salad Bar and a good selections of
Wine too.
Steaks aren't the only thing you can choose at
Backyard Steak Pit, They also have a variety of menu items such as Salmon, Lobster, Shrimp,
and Chicken. I ordered the 8 oz Fillet Mignon with Grilled vegetables and the Salad Bar when I dined there. The Filet was tender and cooked just right. It could have
been better if they used some seasonings while they Grilled it, but it was still enjoyable to eat just the same. The Salad Bar was
a bit disappointing with very few item choices.
The Wine List at Backyard Steak Pit is pretty good though. I tried the Francis Ford Coppola Diamond Shiraz Syrah. This is an excellent
Wine for dinner as well as just for sipping.
Backyard Steak Pit has a good atmosphere that makes it an excellent place to take that special someone for a quiet dinner. There is also a Bar
that is separate from the dining room where you can enjoy a before or after dinner drink if you like. The menu prices are a bit steep at Backyard Steak Pit, but not too unreasonable.
Overall, I recommend the Backyard Steak Pit for a nice quiet or
romantic dinner for two.
