Cajun Kountry Cafe Cajun Kountry Cafe is a tiny Cajun Restaurant located on Remount Road in North Charleston. It is hard to figure out their real name. The Menu says Cajun Kountry Cafe, but The sign on the glass of the Restaurant says Country Kitchen, and the sign on the road say Cajun Kitchen. All the same, it is Cajun, and the food is a bit eclectic as is the confusion over the name.

Cajun Kountry Cafe Highlights
I visited the Cajun Kountry Cafe for Lunch one day. The Menu has a wide variety of Cajun Style Food, and there are a few surprises that are unexpected such as Rabbit, Macko Shark, and Smoked Gator Ribs. The Cajun Kountry Cafe Menu also includes expected Cajun entrees like Etoufee, Jambalaya, Chicken and Shrimp Gumbo, New Orleans Po Boys, and Blackened Catfish to name a few. I tried the Blacken Catfish, which was very good with a decent bite to it. The entrees come with 2 sides and Cornbread. I ordered the Lima Beans and the Tasso Collard Greens. Both sides were outstanding, and my favorite part of the meal. I also sampled teh Chicken Gumbo which was hearty and tasty.
The service at Cajun Kountry Cafe was terrible though. The waiter must have had his head in the clouds because he didn't get anything right, and even when you pointed it out, he still got it wrong. One of the other waiters said he was new, but telling someone three times that you want a small bowl of Gumbo and that you want Splenda instead of sugar, and still getting it wrong just seemed like a lame excuse. The boy was young, so hopefully this was an isolated incident. If I return, and it is better, I will change my service rating, but this service was so terrible, I cannot ignore it.
Cajun Kountry Cafe is open Monday through Saturday. It is a good change of pace, and the only Cajun Restaurant that I know about in the North Charleston area. I recommend them if you like Cajun Style food. I hope your service is better than mine.
