Capitol City Brewing The Capitol City Brewing is the Nations first Brewery opened since prohibition, and one of my favorite Micro Breweries. The alcohol contents in Capitol City Brewed beers isn't high, so you can suck down suds for hours. I usually get the Capitol Kolsch. Capitol Kolsch is German style Wheat beer that has a good flavor to it. It is also very light. Occasionally they will have other specialty beers like the Bitter and ESB. The ESB stands for Extra Special Bitter. I do not care for it too much. It tends to have an over-hopped flavor and a has an off taste that is probably due to a stray yeast or bacteria that got into the mix. Do not be alarmed, these stray yeasts or bacteria are not harmful to you in any way. The regular Bitter that they have occasionally is very good. Whenever I go there and they have Bitter, I'll polish off pint after pint of it, and I usually miss the last Metro Train out of there. Unfortunately, they rarely have it when I go.

Capitol City Brewing Highlights
There are several Capitol City Brewing locations throughout the Washington, DC area. I have been to the one at Massachusetts Ave NE in the old Historic Post Office. This is very conveniently located across the street from Union Station Metro stop. The Red line will take you there. I also have been to the Downtown location on New York Ave just a couple blocks from the Metro Center Metro stop. The Red, Orange , and Blue lines will take you there. The Downtown location is my preferred Capitol City Brewing location. I like the lay out a little better there. One of the menu items to note is the soft pretzels. These are served hot with mustard and are very good.
