Cedar Door
The Cedar Door is a Bar & Grill in Downtown Austin that has been around since 1975. The Cedar Door is a very friendly Pub that serves Food and Drinks in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. It is a bit of a Dive Bar, but that is not a bad thing at the Cedar Door. They have several sayings such as "We're Kind of a Big Deal" and they call themselves the Home of the Famous Cedar Door.

Cedar Door Highlights
I visited the Cedar Door late one evening for a few Pints before retiring. The wait staff is warm, and the Beer is cold. They are known for their Original Mexican Martini, and you can purchase the mixer if you desire. The Cedar Door offers 6 Beers & Ale's on Tap including a local Brew called the Fireman's 4 which is a very light Blonde Ale brewed in the hills of Texas about an hour from Austin. It has a nice flavor, and it goes down smooth. The other Beers on Tap include Shiner Bock, New Belgium Fat Tire, Dos Equis and Domestics.
The Cedar Door also has a large Patio to enjoy a brew or have dinner. There are kerosene heaters out there to keep you warm in the winter months. There are also plenty of Flat Screen TVs for Watching Sports on TV. They also have a late Night Happy Hour between the hours of 9 - 11 PM.
The Cedar Door is a very friendly Dive Bar, and I enjoyed talking to the wait staff while I was there. I like small Bars like the Cedar Door because they tend to be down to earth, and usually you don't have to put up with a lot of high brow BS in them. I heard the food at the Cedar Door is good, but I didn't eat there, so I cannot comment. Perhaps the next time I am in Austin, I will try the food, but either way, drinks after work or a Night cap is definitely in my future plans.
I recommend the Cedar Door as a social place to stop for drinks.
