Coop's Place Coop's Place is a small Hole-in-the-wall Restaurant and Bar located on Decatur Street on the edge of the French Quarter. It is a local Favorite that draws a good crowd every night. The food is authentic local and Creole and is very good. If you are visiting New Orleans, the walk to Coop's Place is worth it. The prices and portions are much better than you will get anywhere on Bourbon Street.

The Menu at Coop's Place includes Rabbit & Sausage Jambalaya, Gumbo, Shrimp Creole, Cajun Fried Chicken, Burgers such as their spicy Fire Cracker Burger that comes with Sweet Potato. There are also Appetizers that range from Crab Claws, Fried Mushrooms, stuffed Jalapenos, and Salads. If you are a vegetarian, you can also order the Garden Burger. Coop's Place is open for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, and Children are not allowed. Coop's Place is a very small place with a Bar, and you may find yourself sharing a table with others. It is worth it though. The food is excellent. When I recently visited Coop's Place, I ordered the Coop's Taste Plate. The Taste Plate has a variety of food that includes Rabbit & Sausage Jambalaya, Cajun Fried Chicken, Gumbo, and Shrimp Creole. The Coop's Taste Plate is the way to go at Coop's Place. This way you can sample several Menu Items. All of the items were very good, but the highlight was the Cajun Fried Chicken. It was awesome.
If you find yourself near the French Quarter in New Orleans, I recommend trying Coop's Place for some local Creole food.
