Fortune Garden Chinese Restaurant Fortune Garden Chinese Restaurant is a little Chinese Food Take Out place on University Blvd (Hwy 78) in North Charleston, SC. It is just off of I-26 at Exit 205 B. Once you are on Hwy 78, it is on the Left hand side just after the Waffle House. They specialize in Szechwan, Hunan, and Cantonese cuisine. There are a lot of Chinese Food Take Out places that you can choose from in the Charleston and North Charleston area, but Fortune Garden Chinese Restaurant is my favorite Chinese Food Take Out Restaurant.

Fortune Garden Chinese Restaurant Highlights
I have had several of the Combination Platters they offer, but my favorite is the Moo Goo Gai Pan. Moo Goo Gai Pan means Button Mushrooms (Moo Goo) Chicken (Gai) slices (Pan). It is a stir-fry mixture of these ingredients along with snow peas, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and Chinese cabbage in a light white sauce. The Gai Pan, or chicken slices, are thin and tender and not over cooked, and the mushrooms are fresh. Moo Gai Pan at Fortune Garden is a very tasty meal. I usually get the Moo Goo Gai Pan combination platter which is served with pork fried rice and an egg roll. In addition to the Moo Goo Gai Pan Combination Platter, I will also get the Egg Drop Soup. This is the best Egg Drop Soup I have been able to find in the North Charleston area. The other Chinese Food Take Out restaurants that offer Egg Drop Soup, do not have the body, or taste that you can get at Fortune Garden Chinese Restaurant. It is a rich yellow color with a lot of egg and a tasty broth.
Fortune Garden Chinese Restaurant also offers Healthy Food and they only use 100% vegetable oil and no MSG. They offer free delivery for orders over $10.00, but the food prices are cheap, so it is hard for Cheryl and I to order that much food to get to the $10.00 minimum. If you have a family of 4, it shouldn't be to much problem reaching that threshold.
So the next time you want Chinese Food Take Out, give Fortune Garden Chinese Restaurant a try. You won't be sorry.
