Whether you are a Democrat or a Republican, the Gerald R. Ford Museum is a must see. It is a walk back in time through Gerald Ford's contributions
to our Country. Cheryl and I found it to be very interesting, and we spent over 2 hours taking in all of the History that is presented in this huge Museum. I
don't want to date myself, but I was a young teenager when Gerald Ford was President. Many of the Displays that I saw I remembered, many of them I didn't, and some I
wish I could forget like the Display of Disco era clothing.
The picture shown here is an actual piece of the Cold War Iron Curtain from Germany which is one of
the many artifacts that can be seen at the Gerald R. Ford Museum. There are also displays that explain the Watergate fiasco that propelled Gerald Ford into the Presidency. Items include the actual Watergate Burglary
Tools, pictures and video of the congressional hearings, Richard Nixon's Resignation Speech and more. The Museum doesn't just concentrate on the Historical significance of
Gerald Ford's tenure as President. It also provides glimpses into times and styles of the day. Items in the Library include Record Albums from Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and others.
The Museum also has the reelection campaign and subsequent defeat to Jimmy Carter and
a lot of Displays about his what he did as the House Minority Leader.
The Gerald R, Ford Museum is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is a beautiful place to see, and if you like History, then I highly recommend a visit.
