Havana Central Restaurant & Bar
Havana Central Restaurant & Bar is a Cuban Restaurant and Bar located in the Times Square section of New York City. It is a nice Restaurant that offers a wide variety of Cuban favorites, Catering, Take Out, Delivery, and they specialize in a variety of Mohitos and other Tropical Drinks. There are three Havana Central locations in New York City. This review is about the Times Square Location.
I visited Havana Central in the evening for a few drinks with family and friends before embarking on an 8 day Cruise the next day. Havana Central is where I discovered the Mohito. A Mohito is a Rum drink made with crush Lime, Fresh Mint, Bacardi 151, sugar (or Splenda), and soda. It is a very refreshing drink and can creep up on you if you have too many. The Mohito that I described is the traditional Mohito. Havana Central also offers other flavors such as Mango and others too. The Bartenders are very friendly and take care of you. I have to watch my sugar, so they gladly accommodated me substituting Spenda instead. We all enjoyed joking and talking with the Bartenders when we were there.
I cannot comment on the food at Havana Central because I did not eat there, but they did not lack for folks coming in to dine. The Menu at Havana Central Restaurant & Bar includes Fried Calamari, Coconut Shrimp, Cuban Tamales, Rice & Bean Combinations, Yucca Bites, Chorizo, Salads, Hamburgers, Cuban Beef Stew, Skirt Steak, Pork dishes, and Hot Pressed Cuban Sandwiches. They also have a Children's Menu and offer Fruit Shakes.
Havana Central is a great place to go and enjoy a beverage and good conversation. I recommend a visit for a couple Mohitos.
