I recently visited the Hickory Hawg and found the place to be clean, friendly, and the Food was excellent too.

The Hickory Hawg is a new Barbeque Restaurant located on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston, SC. They tout their Barbeque as "Ol' Time Barbeque" and a "Taste That Makes The Difference". I recently visited the Hickory Hawg and found the place to be clean, friendly, and the Food was excellent too.

The Hickory Hawg Highlights

The Menu at the Hickory Hawg includes Barbecue Plates such as Barbecue Chicken (dark or white meat), Barbecue Pork, and Baby Back Ribs. All Plates come with Hush Puppies and two sides. The Hickory Hawg also offers Dinner Specials. When I visited them, they were offering the All You Can Eat Pork Plate and it also came with dessert. Other Hickory Hawg Menu items include Sandwich Combos such as the Big Hawg Combo, Little Hawg Combo, Big Rib Combo, Hawg Burgers, and "The Beast" which is a 1/3 lb wood cooked Burger. The Combos come with Fries and a drink, or you can order the Sandwich only.

The Hickory Hawg also offers a Children's Menu that includes a Cheeseburger Meal, Hamburger Meal, Hot Dog Meal, or Chicken Tenders Meal. All of the Children's Meals come with fries and a small drink.

When I visited the Hickory Hawg, I ordered the All You Can Eat Pork Plate and selected the Collards, and Baked Beans as my sides. The Barbecue Pork was delicious, and the sauce they offer complimented the Pork well. The Collards were obviously canned, and a bit of a disappointed, but the Baked Beans and the Hush Puppies were very tasty. The prices at the Hickory Hawg are in line with other Barbecue Restaurants in the area too.

Overall, the Hickory Hawg is a friendly and clean place that offers quality Pork Barbecue. I recommend a visit if you are in the North Charleston area and like Barbecue.
