Kitchen Kettle Village is located in Intercourse, Pennsylvania
in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Amish Country near Lancaster, PA. It is a quaint little Shopping Village with a lot of Homemade foods and Crafts.
In the Kitchen Kettle Village you can find Kettle Corn, Homemade
Fudge, Homemade Jams and Jellies, Soft Pretzels and many other Gift
Shops, and Craft Shops. They also offer horse drawn Buggy
rides too.
The place that stands out the most in my opinion is the Intercourse Canning
Company. There you can watch the Jellies and Jam being
Canned by Hand, and they have someone explain the Canning process
and history there in the Shop too. The ladies doing the
Canning are dressed in Amish garments, but I'm not so sure that they
are really Amish. Anyway, the Jams are unique and the variety
is very large. Throughout the Shop they have sample jars of
Jams, Jellies, preserves, and fruit butters that you can try on an
oyster cracker. Some of them are very good, and you could go
broke if you took home everyone that you liked. The
Intercourse Canning Company also sells Pennsylvania Dutch goods and
specialty candies like flavored liquorices, Jelly Belly Jelly Beans,
Coffees, Hot Sauces and the like.
The Kettle Kitchen Village is a
touristy place to visit, but if you like Homemade Jams and Jellies,
or Fudge or Soft Pretzels, then a trip to the Village may be in
order. You can also order a jar of their products online.
