Lynchburg is located in the center of Virginia. It is off the beaten path. There are plenty of Camping sites,
Civil War Historical sites, and other scenic spots nearby. It is a good central location to stay if you want to
do some Sight Seeing. Appomattox isn’t
very far, and there you can see the actual house where General Lee surrendered to General Grant. There is also Caves,
Smith Mountain Lake, the scenic Skyline Drive, and Natural Bridge to name a few
Tourist spots that aren’t that far away. Lynchburg is also home to Liberty University.
There aren’t many Bars in the area, probably due to the late Jerry Falwell’s influence at Liberty University. I checked out Macado’s Restaurant &
Bar and had a good time there. You can read my Article about Macado’s by clicking the Article Link on the right. There is another Bar here
that I heard good things about called Rub’s, but they evidently do not open on Wednesday’s which is when I tried to visit. They serve
Bar-b-que and have Rock Bands often, and Karaoke on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If I return to Lynchburg, I will try to visit Rubs on a night
other than Wednesday next time. I also visited a couple Restaurants and those reviews are also on the right. One of the Restaurants is
the Crown Sterling. The Crown Sterling has very good food and a relaxed atmosphere. Check them out if you come to Lynchburg - I highly
recommend it.
