Michaelangelo's Kitchen

Michaelangelo's Kitchen is a family style Italian Restaurant located on Sam Rittenberg Blvd in Charleston, SC. They serve Cheap Italian Food, not to be confused with Italian Cuisine. This is by no means fine dining; however, it is an excellent place to take a family out to have a good meal without wrecking your wallet.

Michaelangelo's Kitchen Highlights

  • Full Service Kitchen
  • Kid's Eat Free on Thursday

Michaelangelo's Kitchen caters to the Kids and offers a "Kids Eat Free" Thursday every week. They also have a Kids Menu available every day too. The dining room is unremarkable, but clean, and the service is friendly. When I went there, I ordered the Chicken Parmesan. It was served over a bed of Spaghetti and came with a breadstick. I also ordered the house salad. The Chicken Parmesan at Michaelangelo's Kitchen costs only $6.25, and is served in a way I have never seen before. If you look at the picture I provided here, you will see that the Chicken is cut into chunks. Restaurants that serve Italian Cuisine generally will serve the Chicken as a fillet with a slice of Mozzarella melted over the top. Not here at Michaelangelo's Kitchen though. Other than presentation, and the lack of Mozzarella, the dish tasted good, and for a mere $6.25, it's hard to complain. Cheryl ordered the Mushroom Gnocchi in a garlic cream sauce. It too came with a breadstick. The Mushroom Gnocchi wasn't very good, and there wasn't much on the plate either. The Gnocchi also cost $6.25. Overall, the food for the price is not bad at all. If you have a family of four and want to take them out for dinner, Michaelangelo's Kitchen isn't a bad choice. Cheryl and I had two meals with salads and one drink, and the damages came to less than $20.00.

Michaelangelo's Kitchen also has daily specials and the entrees are generally what you would expect from an Italian Restaurant. The menu has such dishes as Spaghetti, Italian Sausage & Peppers, Ziti, Lasagna, Pizzas, and Calzones too.
