Mustard Seed
The Mustard Seed Restaurant has three locations in the South Carolina Low Country area. We Dined at the Summerville Mustard Seed location. The Mustard Seed is a popular Restaurant that the locals go for Lunch and Dinner. The food tends to be rich and the Chef is very liberal with the Garlic on most of the dishes.

Mustard Seed Highlights
When we dined at the Mustard Seed, it was crowded, but we only had to wait about 15 minutes to get seated. The decor in the Mustard Seed is sparse and not overpowering or cluttered which is good for a Fine Dining Restaurant. The Mustard Seed offers a good selection of Appetizers and Entrees to choose from, and they also have a few Wine selections too. While you are waiting, they provide a basket of Focaccia Bread with a plate of Olive Oil for dipping. The Focaccia Bread was wonderful, and it was very difficult for me not eat it. The Focaccia Bread had Parmesan cheese baked on the top which combined with the Olive Oil results in a very nice and addictive flavor. In addition to the regular Menu items, the Mustard Seed also offers nightly Specials which are written on Black Boards located throughout the Restaurant and on the sidewalk. The night we Dined there, they offered several Specials that all sounded appetizing. We all ordered from the Specials Menu. I had the Maryland Crab Cakes with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and grilled vegetables. The Crab Cakes were big and the flavor was rich. The Mashed Potatoes were mashed with the skins and were loaded with Garlic. The Grilled Vegetables were also dosed with Garlic, but tasted pretty good too.
My son ordered the Pecan Crusted Chicken, and I of course had to take a bite. It came drizzled with Honey. It was very tasty. His entree also came with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Grilled Vegetables. Cheryl ordered the Cashew Crusted Pork Loin with Melted Gouda Cheese and Broccoli. The Broccoli was a deep green and was different than the Broccoli florets that came with the Grilled Vegetables that I received.
Overall, our experience at the Mustard Seed Restaurant in Summerville was a good one. The food is flavorful and filling. None of us finished our meals, but that could have been due to the Focaccia Bread we ate before the meal. We were a little disappointed in the service though. I want to be fair here, the Restaurant was crowded, but that does not explain why two tables that were seated after us received their food before us. I suspect the service problem was some sort of mix up, and I still recommend the Mustard Seed Restaurant in Summerville, SC.
