Original Italian Pizza & Restaurant, or OIP as they like to call it, is located on the South side
of Lynchburg, Virginia. It is a small store front Italian Restaurant in a small
shopping center located on Hwy 29. They offer a Lunch
Buffet that has assorted Pizza, Spaghetti, Meat Balls, assorted Pastas, and a few salad items. I think the name Original Italian Pizza
is a bit misleading. This Pizza was okay, and definitely nothing I would go out of my way for. It is somewhat thin crust, but if you
are looking for New York Style Pizza, then keep looking because Original Italian Pizza & Restaurant is not it. Their Menu claims that
their cuisine is made from their own original Old World Italian Recipes. I cannot dispute this, but I have tasted a lot of Italian
Food in my day from New York & New Jersey as well as Napoli, Rome, and Sicily, and I haven’t had Italian
Food this unremarkable that claimed it was from original Old World Recipes before.
Now I want to be fair here, the food at Original Italian Pizza & Restaurant isn’t terrible; it just isn’t great Italian
Food.
