Oscar's Place in Summerville South Carolina is a full service Restaurant that serves premium Beef, Seafood, and a variety of other dishes.
Oscar's Place has been around for decades and is a local favorite
for Fine Dining in the Lowcountry. The Beef is Hand-cut every morning, so you can be sure that your meal is fresh. Reservations are recommended
if you insist on Dining in the main Dining area which is
non-smoking; however, if you walk in, you can usually find a table
in the Bar or the other non-smoking area, but neither of these areas are
as intimate or as elegant as the main Dining area.
The food in Oscar's Place is outstanding,
and the Beef is top shelf. I usually order the Tenderloin of Beef when I visit Oscar's Place. The Tenderloin is a Hand-cut
Filet Mignon that is charcoal grilled and covered with Shitake Brandy Sauce. The Tenderloin is a thing of beauty and a real joy to eat. The Beef is so tender, you
can almost cut it with a fork, and it melts in your mouth. The Shitake Brandy Sauce adds a delightful flavor to the meal as well. The Tenderloin of Beef entree also comes with garlic
mashed potatoes and Broccoli. Even the Broccoli is top shelf. It was perfectly steamed and very rich in color. Cheryl ordered the Pepper Crusted Sirloin which is also
Charcoal Grilled and comes with Shitake Brandy Sauce. The Pepper Crusted Sirloin entree came with Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes and a Bleu Cheese Stuffed Roma Tomato
Garnish. The
Sirloin was also tender and well prepared.
The service in Oscar's Place is prompt, friendly, and professional. The wait staff are always available and keep your drinks filled and your ash tray empty. We didn't have an issue with
our server disappearing, and when we needed something, she was quick to take care of us. Because we just walked in without a reservation, we dined in the Bar area which is a fairly
nice setting, but the noise level in the Bar & the secondary non-smoking area can be deafening sometimes. Noise isn't an issue in the main Dining area though. Oscar's Place is also a
local favorite for special events such as Birthday Parties, which tends to raise the noise level in these areas. As I stated before, the Bar isn't a bad setting. It has a bit of an Irish
feel too it, and has several Flat Screen Televisions for watching Sports on TV. There are a few booths in the Bar that also have small Flat Screen Televisions so you can view anything
you want. Additionally, Oscar's Place offers NTN Buzztime Trivia in the Bar, so if you are a Trivia buff, you can keep yourself entertained with this national Trivia network favorite.
So if you are looking for a place to enjoy a top shelf meal, particularly Hand-cut Beef, then check out Oscar's Place in Summerville. This Restaurant is a very nice choice for an intimate meal, a Birthday
or other Party event, and even just a place to enjoy dinner and drinks with friends.
