Poblanos Mexican Cuisine is a new Mexican Restaurant located in North Charleston, South Carolina on Rivers Avenue. It is a beautifully renovated Mexican Restaurant that used to be the old Noisy Oyster Restaurant. Poblanos Mexican Restaurant boasts that they are Authentic Gourmet Mexican, but I have to tell you that I am unimpressed.

Cheryl and I visited Poblanos Mexican Restaurant the other night. We were seated quickly and were served a basket of Tortillas and Salsa as is typical of a Mexican Restaurant. The service was also good. We were immediately greeted at our table by the waiter and were given Menus and had our Drink orders taken. The Menu is written in a Cursive Font which made it hard to read, but there are many selections on the Poblanos Mexican Restaurant Menu to choose from. We noticed that the Tortillas we were served were purchased and not made by hand on the premises, and the Salsa must have come straight out of the refrigerator because it was very cold. I ordered a Combination of a hard Shell Chicken Taco, and a Chicken filled Chili Rellenos. Cheryl also got a Chili Rellenos and an Enchilada. Each Meal came with some Mexican Rice that had Potatoes, Carrots, Peas, and Corn in it, and a side of refried Beans with cheese. The Chili Rellenos were the worst I have every eaten. The seeds were still in the Pepper, and the mixture inside the Chili was gross. Neither one of us finished it. The Chicken Taco I had was nothing special, particularly for an Authentic Gourmet Restaurant that Poblanos Mexican Restaurant claims to be.

The Poblanos Mexican Restaurant Menu has a lot of choices, many of which you would expect from a Mexican Restaurant. Dishes cover Chicken, Beef, Steak, Seafood, and Vegetarian. They also have a Kid's Menu which offers items like Burritos, Tacos, Enchiladas, Chicken fingers, Mexican Pizza, and Quesadillas. Poblanos Mexican Restaurant also has a small Bar.

I for one will not be back to Poblanos Mexican Restaurant. I didn't like the food, and the prices are higher than other Mexican Restaurants in the area.
