Pollard's Chicken is a Tidewater favorite for good Home Style Fried Chicken. Pollard's Chicken started in Virginia Beach as a Mom & Pop Fired Chicken Restaurant many years ago and has grown to a mini local Chain throughout Hampton Roads. Pollard's Chicken fries their Chicken in Crisco which gives the Chicken a wonderful flavor. I recently visited the Pollard's Chicken location on South Witchduck Road, and this article is about that Pollard's Chicken location.

Pollard's Chicken has a wide variety of selections on their Menu. It isn't all Chicken at Pollard's. They also have Seafood such as Baked or Fried Fish, Clam Strips, Crab Cakes, and Shrimp Baskets. Other Pollard's Chicken Menu items include Rotisserie Chicken, Chicken Tenders, Buffalo Wings, Minced Pork Barbeque, Pulled Chicken Barbeque, Chicken Gizzards & Chicken Livers. Pollard's Chicken also has a large Catering Menu for those special occasions.

The Witchduck Road location isn't fancy, and is a basic Fast Food type Restaurant complete with a drive thru window. The Restaurant probably seats about 50, and they have a very old Ms. Pac Man machine in there to play while you wait. Basically you go to the counter and place your order and wait. Most folks come into Pollard's Chicken for their famous Fried Chicken dinners which comes with two sides and the Pollard's Chicken signature Puff which is similar to a donut hole with a packet of honey.

Whenever I visit the Tidewater area, I always make it a point to get one of Pollard's two piece Chicken dinners. I recommend Pollard's Chicken on Witchduck Road for a tasty Fried Chicken dinner.
