Safe House located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is the most unique Restaurant and Bar that I have ever visited. Located in an off the beaten path side alley, the Safe House spared no detail to provide a clandestine theme and atmosphere. You would never know there is a Bar and Restaurant at the location looking at it from the street unless someone told you. The entrance is a non-descript door with two lanterns on either side with a sign that says International Exports, Ltd. Upon entering, a voice will ask if they can help you. When you say that you are looking for a "Safe House", you will be requested to give the password. If you do not know the password, a Spy Test will be given. Don't worry, the tests are easy. Once you pass the test, the book case will open and a stairwell will be revealed. At the top of the stairs you will be greeted and seated for dining or you can make your way to the Safe House Bar.

The atmosphere in the Safe House is all about being an Special Agent hiding out. The wait Staff are called Service Agents and guests are called either Spies or Agents. Each booth is decorated differently and are called Districts. We sat in the Paris District. This is a Booth surrounded by a bead curtain. The ceiling in the main dining area has a large Keyhole Shaped mirror and there are signs and various other pictures and things on the walls that are humorous and spy-ish. The Service Agents are very friendly and a little mischievous too.

The Menu at the Safe House is a bit eclectic and called "Crafty Cuisine". It includes items like Hamburgers and Cheeseburgers, Salads and such, most items have undercover descriptors like the Mediterranean Kiss & (don't) Tell which is Hummus Dip, Kalamata Olives & Pico de Gallo with Pita or the Linguini with TOP SECRET Sauce. We tried the Wisconsin Cheese & Honey Appetizer at the Safe House. It is a combination plate of Wisconsin artisan Cheese selections, fresh Fruit & Crackers with a dash of Honey. It was pretty good. I also tried Ze French Dip which is a French Dip Sandwich. I have had better elsewhere.

The Safe House also has souvenirs glasses, pins, patches, T-shirts, and several other types of interesting Spy stuff. At night there is always some type of Entertainment which ranges from Live bands to Karaoke, and DJs. They also offer Casino Royale every night but Sunday where you can learn to play black Jack and win discounted Drinks.

The Safe House is a must visit when in Milwaukee, WI. You are encouraged to explore the Restaurant, and you do want to do that. There are so many unique and humorous things to see. When you visit, make sure when want to sneak out, ask to use the back entrance. Oh and ladies, be careful around that Burt Reynold's poster in the bathroom.
