Sconyers Bar-B-Que is a well known and established Bar-B-Que Restaurant located
in Augusta, Georgia. They have been around since 1956, and their Old Fashioned Pit Cooked Bar-b-que is absolutely delicious and a local favorite. Ask
anyone in Augusta where the best Bar-B-Que is, and you will get Sconyers as the resounding answer. Sconyers Bar-B-Que offers catering and they have
catered at the White House and United States Congress on a few occasions including aboard Air Force One. They have also catered the Georgia Capitol too.
The Restaurant is a rustic country house setting. Entering Sconyers Bar-B-Que is by way of a walking bridge that goes over a man-made pond that
is well maintained and full of ducks. It is a relaxing and simple atmosphere. Upon entering the Restaurant you are greeted courteously and
promptly seated. Even when there is a crowd, and there is always a crowd, you do not wait long. That is probably because the Restaurant seats
over 400 people.
As I stated earlier, the food is wonderful. I always get the small Bar-B-Que plate. It is a plate mounded with pulled pork, creamy potato salad,
and rice smothered in a heaping helping of hash. You also get half a loaf of white bread and bread and butter pickles. They offer three choices
of sauce on the tables; spicy vinegar based; hot tomato based; and mustard based. I love the vinegar based Bar-B-Que sauce it has a good flavor
and a bit of a kick. The sweet tea at Sconyers is very good too.
There are other choices besides the pulled pork plate too. You can also choose from sliced Turkey, Bar-b-que chicken, Bar-B-Que ribs, Bar-b-que
sandwiches and other platters.
If you like Bar-B-Que, and you find yourself in Augusta, Georgia, then you owe it to yourself to try Sconyers Bar-B-Que. They even have a drive
thru if you are in a hurry too.
