Sullivan's Highlights
Sullivan's Restaurant is very quaint with subdued lighting that makes for a romantic place to eat. Sulliav's Menu offers offers Fried and Broiled Seafood including Scallops, Shrimp, Oysters, and a Captains Platter that has all of these Seafood items plus Flounder, and Deviled Crab. Other Menu Items include Steamed Crab Legs, Po Boy's, Shrimp and Fried Grits, Ribey Steaks, Chicken, Snapper, Salads, and Pasta. They also tout the Original Sullivan's Island 7-Layer Seafood which consists of Sauteed Shrimp, Scallops and Crabmeat tossed with fettuccine and creamy Mornay Cheese sauce, topped with bacon and Mozzarella Cheese. They bake this to a golden Brown. This sounds really good, and I wanted to order it, but my diet dictates that I stay away. Instead I ordered the Broiled Scallpops. This dish is lightly seasoned and Broiled in White Wine and butter and served with two sides. I cose Collard Greens and Speckled Butter Beans. It was all good. The Scallops were very tasty, and I loved the Collard Greens. They were prepared perfectly and had a very good flavor with just a tiny bite. It was obvious that they were fresh Collard Greens, and not canned. The Speckled Butter Beans were also tasty. Overall, my meal was absolutly excellent.
Sullivan's also offers a small Kid's section in the Menu that includes Fried Shrimp, Fried Flounder, Chicken Fingers, Grilled Cheese, and a burger. I thought the Wine List was a bit lacking though. We ordered a PinotRiggio which compliments the Seafood very well. Overall, I recommend Sullivan's Restaurant on Sullivan's Island for good Seafood.
