Theo's Family Restaurant is a small Greek and Italian Restaurant located in the Rockshire Village Shopping Center in Rockville, Maryland. Theo's family Restaurant provides Dining in, Carry Out, Delivery, and Catering of Authentic Greek and Italian Cuisine.

I visited Theo's Family Restaurant while attending a course at the near by Learning Tree Center in Rockville recently. In the mood for some Lamb, I decided to find a Greek Restaurant to get some. I found Theo's Family Restaurant and had a nice dinner. For an Appetizer I had the Flaming Saganaki. Saganaki is a Pan Fried Greek Kasseri Cheese. It is torched at your table and doused out by squeezing a lemon over it. If prepared right, it is a tangy and delicious treat. I have had Flaming Saganaki at other places before. I was not too happy with it at Theo's though. Although the portion is much bigger than most places, the Saganaki at Theo's Family Restaurant was a little burnt which gave it a bad taste.

For my main course I ordered the Lamb Kapama Dinner. The lamb Kapama is a Lamb Shank braised in wine & tomato sauce and served over Rice Pilaf with green beans. I substituted the Rice Pilaf for Roasted Potatoes. All Dinners come with a Greek Salad too. The Lamb Kapama was delicious and tender. The meat fell off the bone. The Roasted Potatoes were also very good.

The Menu at Theo's Family Restaurant is large and varied and includes a wide assortment of dishes and appetizers. Appetizers at Theo's includes Tzatziki, a blend of yogurt, cucumber, garlic & herbs served over pita. Other items include Taramosalata, Melinzanosalata, Artichoke Hearts, Calamari, Spanakopita and others. There is also an assortment of Salads, Soups, and a Kid's Menu. Theo's Family Restaurant also has several House Specialties. Besides the lamb Kapama, they also offer Chicken or Pork Souvlaki, Imam Baildi and Spanakopita Platters, Pastichio, Mousaka, Dolmades, Shish Kebab, Mediterranean Chicken Breasts, Flounder, Tilapia, Steaks, Chops, Pizzas, and Pasta dishes. Other items offered include Sandwiches, Hamburgers, Sub Sandwiches, and sides such as French Fries, Mozzarella sticks and the like.

Overall, the Food is very good at Theo's Family Restaurant, and if you are looking for some tender Lamb, then I recommend the Lamb Kapama.
