Water's Edge Restaurant is located on Historic Shem Creek in
Mount Pleasant, SC. The Restaurant is beautifully and elegantly
decorated with a Cedar wood facade from floor to ceiling throughout. They
have Creek side dining with an excellent view of the Creek with its fishing
boats. Water's Edge Restaurant also has a Bar on the inside of the
Restaurant as seen in the photo above, as well as a Dockside Bar called the
Water's Edge Cabana Bar. During the Summer months, they often have
entertainment at the Cabana Bar like Jazz on the Creek. Additionally,
there is outside dining if you prefer, and during the cooler evenings, they
have propane deck heaters in the dining area as well as around the Cabana Bar.
Overall, the Water's Edge Restaurant and Water's Edge Cabana Bar is a class
act, and a very nice dining experience.
I started my meal off with an appetizer of fresh local Little Neck Clams that were
steamed and served in a broth of fresh herbs, White Wine, and butter. The Clams were
cooked just right, tender, and the broth was excellent. For my main
course, I ordered the Grilled Mahi. The Mahi came with citrus herb
butter and was served with Red Rice and Sautéed Vegetables of broccoli,
carrots, mushrooms, onions, and herbs.
The Grilled Mahi was cooked to
absolute perfection, and I let the Chef know it too. Every bite was
tender and moist without it being raw. The citrus butter complimented
the fish and added a little saltiness and a little citrus tang. It was
not overpowering at all. Cheryl ordered the Beef Pasta. The Beef Pasta consists of pan seared Beef Tenderloin with
penne Pasta,
mushrooms, and onions in a whole grain mustard White Wine cream sauce.
Cheryl really liked the taste and commented on how the the mustard and White Wine complimented each other. The portion size of the Beef Pasta dish
was so big, Cheryl couldn't eat it all. I, however, had no problem finishing the Grilled Mahi.
The Water's Edge Restaurant's slogan is Downtown Dining on Shem Creek. It is indeed fine dining
and can definitely compete with some of the fancy Restaurants in Downtown
Charleston. If you are looking to enjoy an excellent meal in a nice
atmosphere, then go to the Water's Edge Restaurant on Shem Creek. I
recommend it highly.
