WG's Tavern

WG's Tavern is a Pub located in the Historic District of Savannah, GA on Lincoln Street across from the Staybridge Suites. They claim to be the Oldest Bar in Savannah, and haunted too. WG's Tavern is a Friendly Dive Bar. Not much glitz or glamour, but friendly service and friendly customers. I had an enjoyable evening in WG's Tavern knocking back a few Beers while conversing with the Bartender and patrons.

WG's Tavern Highlights

  • Full Service Bar
  • Pool Tables
  • Dart Boards
  • Television
  • Video Games
  • Patio
  • Haunted?

WG's Tavern is a full service Bar that has a Piano, Pool Table, Dart Board, Patio, and other Video Games. When I visited WG's Tavern, I was one of three patrons when suddenly about 25 people came in and sat down and ordered drinks. They were part of the Creepy Crawl Haunted Pub Tour. WG's Tavern is a regular stop on this Tour, so I got to listen to the Tour guide tell everyone about the Haunting at WG's Tavern. It seemed to be a racket to me.. The Tour stayed for about 15 minutes and then the Bar returned to just the three us again.

I recommend WG's Tavern for a quite, friendly place to have a drink. The bartenders are friendly, and so are the patrons. If you happen to be staying at the Staybrdige Suites, then WG's Tavern is in perfect stumbling distance to your motel.
