The Wharf Seafood Restaurant is located in Historic Alexandria on King Street. The building has been around for over 200 years, and the Wharf Restaurant maintains the original look as much as possible. For instance, all of the beams and columns are visible and built under typical construction techniques that date back to around 1800. There is even an original elevator that was installed by the original owner located at the front of the Restaurant in the Bar. The Wharf Seafood Restaurant serves a variety of Seafood dishes. They also serve Live Maine Lobster, and when you enter the Restaurant, you will see the Lobster tank next to the maître d’ station.

The Wharf Seafood Restaurant is a very quaint place to dine while visiting the old Town Historic District of Alexandria, Virginia. The Restaurant is a little on the small side, but the atmosphere is relaxed and has a touch of class. The lighting is subdued and the dining experience is comfortable. The menu includes Topneck and Littleneck Clams, Mussels, Blue Point Oysters, a variety of Lump Crab Meat entrees and appetizers, Maine Lobster dishes, Shrimp dishes, Flounder, and steaks and chicken dishes too. The prices are a little steep, but the food is very good. When I was seated, it wasn't no time at all before I received a glass of chilled water and a small basket of bread. I started my meal with a cup of the She Crab Soup. The She Crab Soup has a bit of a spicy kick to it, but it was very creamy and tasty. For my entree I chose the Broiled Deep Sea Scallops in butter with breadcrumbs. I thought the portion was a little small for the price, but the Sea Scallops were very tender and perfectly prepared. My entree also came with a baked potato. Throughout the meal, the service was outstanding. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and the waiter was attentive from the filling of the water glass to the delivery of the check.

If you like Seafood, The Wharf Seafood Restaurant is a fine Restaurant to visit in Old Town Historic Alexandria, The service is impeccable, the food is very good, and it provides a nice comfortable relaxed dining atmosphere in a rustic, historic setting. Bring your wallet though.
